488 Pista Spider

The Ferrari 488 Pista was launched at the Geneva Motor Show in 2018 and showcased a design which was heavily influenced by the 488 GTE and Challenge competition cars. Power was increased to 710 hp at 8000 rpm with a phenomenal 770 N.m of torque from only 3000 rpm thanks to extensive revision of the internal components of the 3.9 litre twin-turbocharged V8. The most obvious cosmetic change also served an important engineering purpose. Air passes through the ducts in the front bumper which force it through a large vent in the bonnet, creating downforce over the nose. This combined with numerous underbody modifications and a revised rear diffuser produced 20% more downforce than a conventional 488 GTB. In a very overt recognition of Ferrari’s commitment to heritage even in their new car production philosophy the 488 Pista Spider was launched at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance in 2018. Performance was identical but thanks to the integration of new materials into the design the convertible is, in fact, lighter than its coupé counterpart! Making the 488 Pista Spider not only a Ferrari first, but one of the rare occasions where a convertible version brings no performance compromise.

Our Example

Our Ferrari Tailor Made Pista Spider must be one of the best specified examples available, put simply we have rarely seen this number of optional extras being ticked on a Pista Spider, and the result is simply stunning, combining purpose and elegance. The first owner specified in special order ‘Bianco Anastasia’ with a Blu Sterling interior and Extracampionario contrasting stitching. The car was delivered new in Germany to a first owner in Kronberg, near to Frankfurt. All possible carbon fibre options were ticked, in a shade of Blu Lucido for the exterior with a gloss finish, complementing the Blue center stripe and the white paint. The level of detail is highly impressive with every element carefully contrasted in colour and finish forming a coherent design.
