The Ferrari 275 GTB Long Nose is a grand touring car produced between 1964 and 1966, with only 205 units ever built, making it highly coveted among collectors. Featuring a longer front end than the earlier “Short Nose” variant, it was designed to improve aerodynamics and stability at high speeds. Powered by a 3.3-litre V12 engine, it delivers an exhilarating driving experience, with an iconic design characterised by smooth lines and classic Italian craftsmanship. The Long Nose version is particularly sought after for its improved handling, rare features, and limited production, cementing its place as one of Ferrari’s most revered models.
Our Example
Chassis 08439 was born as a Long-nose 275 GTB Torque Tube in 1966. It was finished new in the colour combination of Rosso Chiaro 20-R-190 over a Black Connolly interior and was delivered in April 1966 to Spanish Ferrari importer Tayre S.A. in Madrid. It would be registered in Barcelona on the plates “B-489039”. The 275 found its way to the UK, where a German gentleman acquired it in 1986 from Chris Drake Collectors Cars Ltd in England. As can be seen from the documentation accompanying the Ferrari, the German owner transported the 275 from England to Germany on the hovercraft, a moment immortalised by photographs of chassis 08439 just before boarding, still wearing its original red dress and registered on UK plates “AKX67E”. The 275 would remain with the German owner’s family until now. 37 years after acquiring the car, the owner’s family decided to treat the GTB to a full, nut-and-bolt restoration at Ferrari Classiche in Modena. The works were finished in December 2023 and the process for a Classiche certification has been approved as part of the restoration. Now offered at our Munich showroom, chassis 08439 presents in factory-restored concours condition and is fully matching numbers engine, gearbox, differential, chassis, and body. The paperwork accompanying this 60s automobile shows how well the car was cared for during the last four decades. Accompanied by two folders of invoices, a documentation of the restoration works carried out at Ferrari in 2023, and soon its Ferrari Classiche Red Book, chassis 08439 is one of the best long-nose 275s money can buy and can be inspected at our showroom in Munich by appointment.
