In our opinion the 993 has a strong case to be the ultimate generation of air-cooled 911s and not only because it is the last of the air-cooled production series. The 993 is so special because bridges the gap between classic analogue performance and modern refinement. Unlike its all-wheel-drive sibling (the C4S), the rear-drive variant retains the purity and lightweight agility that defines the 911. Only 3,714 units were produced worldwide, making this a rare and appreciating classic.
Our Example
Our example is highly likely unique in the sense that it has been specified from new with options rarely seen on any Carrera 2S, and the reason is: the car was first a Porsche AG car. The 993 was delivered in July 1997 and was first registered on Porsche AG, wearing the plates S-MS4438, as can be seen from the original, old German title accompanying the Carrera S. A bit less than two years later, the car went to its first private owner, resident in Offenbach in Germany, as documented by the purchase contract between Porsche Zentrum Hofheim and Mr. Schmitt. Mr. Schmitt would give his Porsche Carrera Coupe into trade for the Carrera S, which at the moment of purchase, showed a mere 34,000km on the clock. According to the German title, the car would only find another owner in 2021, who registered in Germany in November 2021, thus the Porsche hasn’t left Germany! Several invoices of the services carried out at Porsche accompany the car. The service history of the 993 is as follows: 07.05.1998 at 20,583km 14.7.1999 at 40,383km 01.10.2001 at 61,281km 05.05.2004 at 79,275km 06.06.2010 at 101,500km The brake discs at the front and back were replaced in 2022. Today, the 993 presents in beautiful condition and stuns by its unique configuration. Paired with the manual gearbox, the all-rare Turbo S style air-intakes, as well as the Turbo bodykit, all options from factory, there is no doubt that this is one of the most unique and collectable Carrera S ever offered for sale. Showing just over 115,000 km today, the Porsche will be delivered to its new owner including a fresh service at Porsche.
